Does Your Blog Mirror Your Personality??

I think my blog mirrors my personality perfectly. But of course sometimes you are too close to a project.

Okay I just had to slip in a sexy picture!!

I have been reading blogs and I often wonder if the person behind the blog is as I perceive them to be. I have met some people from blog world and some are just as I perceive them to be and others are not.

Examples:

Blogging Buddy #1: I started visiting his blog then he returned to visit mine. After commenting a few times on each other's blog we started emailing each other. Then we started instant messaging which led us to chatting on the phone. He is exactly like his blog, he comes across as a wonderful person in his blog and he really is a wonderful person.

Blogging Buddy #2: She visited my blog first, then I visited her blog we began emailing, then instant messaging, and finally talking on the phone. I think her blog is very close to her personality but I think her kindness and loving nature does not shine as bright on her blog as it does on the phone, her laughter is priceless.

Blogging Buddy #3: I visited his blog first and was amazed at the compassion and talent of his blog, then he started visiting my blog. His comments always make me feel appreciated. Well we started emailing then instant messaging. He is just as AWESOME in real time as he is in his blog.

Blogging Buddy #4: This buddy's blog drives me NUTS!! When I read his blog I feel personally attacked for my beliefs and who I am. I feel intentionally left out of posts. (I realize this is all in my head) But we started emailing and he is a great person. Then we started instant messaging and he is awesome. But his blog still drives me crazy sometimes.

Blogging Buddy #5: This buddy has a very original blog. It cracks me up and I love to visit it. We started instant messaging and I think he is great. But he is much more normal than I would have ever imagine him to be.

I could go on and on with all the wonderful blogs I read, but I think you have the idea.

So my first question to you is do you think your blog mirrors your personality? My second question is do you think my blog mirrors my personality?

Thank you to everyone who reads my blog, writes in their blogs, and comments on mine. Blogging has been a wonderful experience 95% of the time and I have all of you to thank for it! So..... THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Hmmm, good question. I think my blog is only a very small part of who I am. In actuality, I say things on my blog I would not say in real life. I'm mostly like that online. I'm much more shy in person.

I think your blog shows your personality. Of course, I don't really know for sure, as we haven't "met" except for commenting. But between your blog, and the comments you leave on mine, I take you to be a happy, caring, compassionate individual.

Thank you for commenting Still Searching. I am also very shy. It is much easier to type to someone or comment on their blog then actually speak to them. It takes me a few times to get over the giggles. I do believe here in blogworld I am much more the person I would like to be that my shyness holds back. Also, I would like to thank you for the kind words. I guess I need to change this entry a bit from perfectly ~winks~

Yes, I think my blog mirrors me pretty close to who I am as a person. I have met a couple people outside of the "blog world" talking to them via IM or on the phone and they are also reflective of their blog as they are in person. I think the blog really allows people to be who they REALLY are without having to try to impress anyone or offend anyone.

I think your blog reflects you very well, your family values, your view on life, your laughter, and your desire in the D/s relationships. I think it would be hard not to be who we are in the blog world. Keep up the great posts! :) *thanks*

another nice post cherish. me, still being quite new to blogging would like to think that a persons blog mirror's who they really are.

your blog to me.... reveals what an honest, funloving and passionate woman you are. But i, like you, am much more shy in person than i tend to be here online and in my blog.
Hugs,
~gina~

Hmmmm....interesting question. I think a blog can mirror how you perceive yourself. As with all aspects of our lives, I think it may not reflect how you are perceived by others on a day to day basis. In many cases, I think a blog is a persona someone takes on. It can be a mask or what's behind the mask. I don't think you can know everything about a person by their blog anymore than you can know everything about a person by meeting them.

But then again, I do live in Dizgraceland :)

LoB: I agree with you about your blog. I believe it shows your true self. Thank you for commenting!

Gina: Thank you for stopping by, I sometimes think online is a haven for shy people!

Tim: I hope you are as your blog implies because you are so darn funny! I really enjoy your blog. I agree that some people's blogs are who they are, some are who they would like to be and some people's blogs are who they could never be. That is why I asked the question because I think it is very interesting. So many different answers, just like to the question why do you blog. Thank you for stopping by!!

That's a funny question, I was actually thinking of asking you to post a real picture of yourself. Sometimes you get more of a 'person' if you actually see who they are. I see you as the woman sitting at the kitchen island with her lap top and smiling.. it was a picture you had in one of your posts. I don't know why THAT image stuck.. it just did.

I find that everyone gets to be who they would most like to be on-line. I agree with locutus, where you don't think of offence or pretending.. because If people don't like it, you don't actually have to 'deal' with them. I love that, I can talk freely about my feelings, my ambitions, my dreams. It is much easier to share something and not feel like you may be regected or made fun off. And if you do, that's what the trash can is for ;P

I think your blog does mirror some of what you are(not all but that is a good thing)at least from some of the interaction I've had with you.
I think the comments you leave on other blogs mirrors alot of who you really are.
I would say because of some of the content here posting an actual picture of yourself might not be a good idea.Lol

As far as my blog goes, no masks, no falsehoods, what you see is pretty much what you get.
I would even post a real pic of myself but I don't like looking at myself very much...scarey!

I think my blog mirrors my personality, but I also agree with tim-Elvis. You don't really get a clear picture because I don't think everyone reveals everything on their blog, as they shouldn't.

Since you're pretty anonymous you can be more honest than you would be face to face I think. I have revealed some personal things, but overall my blog represents what I like, my feelings, thoughts, gripes, worries, etc.

I think your blog does the same. You're a warm, thoughtful, passionate person--from what I can tell. ;)

I'm really not sure how closely my blog matches my true self, or how it compares to what someone would think of me in person. I try to let as much through as I think is reasonably safe, but I assure you the thought processes are fairly accurate. Matter of fact, you guys probably have alot better idea of what's going on in my mind than people I see face to face, since I do not have the relative safety of a monitor between me and them.

I try to give every blogger the benifit of the doubt when it comes to what they want me to believe they are about, but being the realist that I am, I also allow that there may be some "Wizard of OZ" kind of thing going on with some, which I can't really hold against them, short of flat-out lying. If I eventually discovered that the Buffalo was in actuality a scrawny, pimply faced janitor on probation who never did a day of military service, I would have to hurt him bad....I mean real bad. My guts tell me he's the real deal, tho. I just hope no one discovers I'm actually a nuclear physicist hiding out from the oil cartels for discovering cold fusion.......

Great post cherish and I agree your blog does reflect who you are. You are wonderful person who I love and cherish very much and if it wasnt for blogging and LOB's blogs we would have never met. As for as my blog for some reason that is a hard question for me to answer, I will have to think about, xoxoxo

XMichra: I would be very hesitant to put a picture of me on this blog. Wayyyy tooooo much information is given, hehe!! The picture you have is pretty accurate but mostly I am sitting in my burgandy leather recliner with my lap top. But I do sit at the kitchen table too. Nine times out of ten I try to use a brunette in the pictures because I have long brown hair and brown eyes. But sometimes the perfect picture is a blonde so I use it. I agree with you because I am able to talk about all sides of who I am. Most of my friends would never understand the D/s part of me. I had one friend I confided in about it she never understood it but did not judge me. I enjoy writing here because I can just be me no worries about be judged. Like you said if I am that is what trash is for, hehehe!

TC: I agree with you I think your blog is you totally!! I agree with you about not posting a picture of me. I would love to see a picture of you!! I enjoyed the picture of DJMaster Jam.

Gunngirl: I agree totally being anonymous helps to be even more honest. I prefer just being me here! I do believe it would not be as enjoyable writing in my blog if I was not being completely honest. I think that is the thing I love most about it. I can show AL of me here, I do not have to worry about ridicule for my children or family.

Michael: Too funny about Buffalo... I always thought you were a nuclear physicist hiding out from the oil cartels for discovering cold fusion.

I want to thank everyone very much for stopping by and commenting! Also thank you for the kind comments about my blog. I do believe my blog is me, all of me; the good, the bad and the ugly. I just write what is in my brain through caution to the wind and I do not edit.

I do think the only difference is I am a bit shy in real life and here the shyness disappears behind the keyboard.

Lori: We must have been commenting at the same time! Great minds think alike. I think your blog is very close to your personality. I just think everyone needs to hear your great laugh!!

Thank you to LoB!!

Hi Cherish,

I guess my blog doesn't actually mirror me. I would have to have a lot more pages for that. But it does have my personality. After all, it is my blog. Just like your blog. It is yours and reflects who you are.

Tell me the first pic is not of you?

Peace, love and light,
Ric
